The Root Center
The Root Center, the gold square at the bottom of the bodygraph, is the center for adrenaline, the "get-up and go" behind doing what needs to be done, learned or created; it is the center for Right Timing. Like the Head, it is a pressure center and carries a lot of stress energy.
If you have a Defined Root Center, you have a consistent pressure to get things done, but you may not always feel "on" and in the right frame of mind to accomplish your next project, because this center has an "on/off" switch. When the adrenalin switch is on, you'll get stuff done; if it's off, it may be harder to accomplish what you want to do.
When the timing isn't right for you to do something, your adrenaline switch will turn off. If you can monitor your inner impulse around your drive, emotions, motivation, and physical energy, you will begin to understand right timing. When the timing is perfect, you will sense your adrenaline turn on, and you will be able to accomplish things with greater ease.
In times when you aren't feeling right, ask yourself: Am I procrastinating, or am I sensing that the time is not quite right? If you can't get the drive to do something, it is highly likely that the timing just isn't right. Learn to trust your adrenaline level and your "gut" to help you use the energy of the Root wisely.
In those moments when you know the timing is wrong, be kind to yourself. Say to yourself, "Things will get done when they get done." Your greatest lesson is to listen to yourself and your body. You will begin to distinguish the times when you are "on" enough to create whatever you want; you'll also know to give yourself lots of love and patience when the energy is "off." You have the ability to be an instrument of "Perfect Timing," knowing that all things will be accomplished at the best moment possible, allowing yourself and those around you to be at peace.

If you have an Open Root Center, you probably experience a lot of pressure to get things done, mostly because you are taking in the adrenaline of the people around you and amplifying it. You may have an ever-expanding to-do list that keeps you occupied, both mentally and physically. You may may feel, "Oh if I could just get this thing done, then life will be better!" The problem is, that "one" thing will be replaced by another thing that will put pressure on you to finish. This can translate to either never taking a break, rushing through things just to be done with them, or procrastinating. If you give a person with an Open Root a job to do, they will do it quickly because of the pressure to get it off their list. This may mean that people will take advantage of you and ask you to do to much; you've proven you will get things done!
The Open Root puts pressure on other open centers you have as well; for example, with your Open Throat you may feel pressure to speak in order to be heard when the timing isn't right, or in combination with the Open Sacral, you may feel pressure to work even though your body is running out of energy.
If you are in a relationship with someone who has a Defined Root Center, you may feel as it they are pressuring you to do something. This is because people with a Defined Root exude adrenalin energy all the time without realizing they do. This can push you into saying "yes" even when it's not what you want.
The biggest thing you can do to help with this openness is to become aware of it. Notice when you're putting pressure on yourself to get things done, or if you're feeing pushed by your partner to do something. You can ask yourself, "What's the worse thing that could happen if I don't get this done?" More than likely the answer is "Nothing." This will help with procrastination as well--your pressure to get things done can create overwhelm, which can in turn push you to simply give up until the things on your list absolutely have to get done. Letting go of the push to accomplish things will release the pressure, allowing you to finish tasks when your energy is up for it.
